In the early hours of today, a violent clash erupted between students of Sokode Senior High School and members of the Sokode Gborgame community, leading to several injuries and damaged of properties. The cause of the altercation remains unclear, but the situation quickly escalated, drawing the attention of security agencies and regional leadership.
Among those affected by the incident were multiple individuals who sustained injuries. Notably, the Honorable James Gunu, Regional Minister, along with members of the Regional Security Council (RESEC), the Member of Parliament for Ho Central, Hon. Edem Kofi Kpotosu, officials from the Education Directorate, and other stakeholders, were involved in addressing the aftermath of the situation.
As an immediate response to restore calm and ensure the safety of students and residents, authorities have temporarily shut down the school. Transportation arrangements have been swiftly made to facilitate the safe return of students to their respective homes while a thorough investigation is carried out.
